What We Now Offer...

In the introduction we said we are a family business. It was never our intention to grow into a large business. Introducing this website and offering a full service to our customers probably meant expansion was inevitable. We tried to keep it a pace that suited ourselves and customers both old and new.

It goes without saying we hope, the health and welfare of our poultry was always to be our primary concern.........and hence the drastic cut back as previously mentioned

Quality Birds Give Quality Returns

Poor birds still require the same time, same space, same feed and same running costs as a quality healthy bird. Quality birds and hatching eggs from rare birds will always be more expensive.

And although, as previously mentioned, we no longer supply livestock poultry,(except layers) we would emphasise again if your intention is to buy "layers", or any kind of poultry for that matter... buy the best.

Even if they appear initially to be more expensive. In the long run, not only will they prove not to be, you will also have, "Quality Stock".

 In return they will provide you and your family with a lot more healthy eggs and possibly eliminate altogether the costs of expensive vets bills and your extra time, attention and worry.

Customer relationship is valued highly in our business. Many of our new customers were entirely new to poultry keeping. We never pressure to buy.

We’ll never claim to be experts and we will never have the range and numbers of the larger poultry producers, but if we can help, we will. What we don’t know…and that might be a great deal, we will try to find out for you.

We offer a reasonable range of HATCHING EGGS from our rare & traditional poultry, which would suit both experienced breeders & new poultry people. 

If there is something specific you require and we can’t provide it, we will do all we can to point you in the right direction. We will talk more specifically about our range of poultry and products later.

We say again, if your order is for only six hatching eggs, or even some advice, it is important to you and to us, that you feel comfortable and feel you are being treated respectfully and given time to make up your mind if it is right for you.

Our customers are ever put in a position where they feel an obligation to buy.

In the context of the poultry business, the fact we are cutting back drastically shows neither Margaret, or I are driven by profit.  The welfare of our poultry and the service we give our customers, will always be our first and our last priority.

This site covers a nationwide area, we would expect our "Hatching Egg Business" to continue to focus in all areas of U.K.

(OUR SALES OF HATCHING EGGS WERE IN GREAT DEMAND WHEN WE DECIDED TO SELL ON EBAY...AND IT IS LIKELY, IF EGGS ARE AVAILABLE, WE WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO).

 Posted eggs can bring their own problems.....not only with breakages, but the general effect on the incubation process. We guarantee absolute Freshness.

To our knowledge none of our customers have had problems with broken eggs, (securely packed in custom-made polystyrene boxes)...... and with the emphasis on absolute freshness & good fertility, the hatching success has been very good.

We would ask you to check our general "customer comments", and (at least at the time of writing) our feedback on E-bay....100% positive feedback. 

If we continue to insist we wish to remain a contained family business, we might never grow at all of course, or worse, start shrinking.......

We really do not have the facilities (space, time or energy) to think of large plans for expansion. And because in hindsight we realise we have physically, (and maybe mentally) overstretched ourselves we have seriously pulled sevices back to what is for us, and our poultry, a comfortable and manageable level.

We are not supplying livestock at all now, (except for layers). Refer to home page. 

We will of course have hatching eggs for sale from our quality foundation stock and continue to breed and introduce new quality birds ourselves to our main breeding poultry stock.

Addressing requests for Hatching Eggs (especially rare breeds) depends of course on demand and availability at the time.  

Some of our customers put in advance orders for hatching eggs. In theory, although this does appear to make sense, for a range of reasons it very rarely works out.

It appears to be easier for all concerned to contact us if you need eggs.

For obvious reasons, we will not have eggs in stock, but we can possibly work something out together, if the hens are doing what they are supposed to do.
